The City of Bridgeport, Connecticut has put together a sleek spatial assessment tool to implement green infrastructure projects where they will provide the most benefit. The map identifies target areas based on priority to improve air quality, low-income communities and stormwater management risk. The City is able to use this tool to determine where green infrastructure projects would make the largest impact toward the goals set out for the community. Find out more and explore the map here.
London Urban Agriculture Plan:
London, Ontario has released a draft urban agriculture plan for the city which lays out priorities and implementation approaches. The strategy was developed with community input and was created to “help the municipality and the communities of London work together, and support each other, in developing a positive, enabling environment for urban agriculture in the city”. The strategy also includes an inventory of existing and potential urban agriculture sites. The map can be seen here.
Waterfront Revitalization in Toronto includes Green Infrastructure:
$1.28 billion dollars of government funding will be invested in remediation and shoreline naturalization projects in the port lands area of Toronto. This project, which is expected to include significant green infrastructure components, will allow for the re-development of an area the size of most of downtown Toronto.
